Mortgage Rates in Oregon

VMG Weekly Mortgage Interest Rate Tracker – 12/21/2016

DATE:  Wednesday, December 21st, 2016
TIME:  12:00 PM PST
STATES:  OREGON & WASHINGTON
CHANGE THIS WEEK:  WORSE (since last Wednesday)
SUGGESTION:  LOCK/CHECK VOLATILITY THIS WEEK (be in position to lock) –  While the Fed does not directly change mortgage rates, their announcement to raise the federal funds/prime rate 0.25% last week (and again during 2017, but early speculation) sent investors spinning.  There was a sell-off in the bond market Wednesday afternoon and into Thursday and mortgage rates worsened.  Small recovery since then and potential for a little rebound in the coming weeks.  Volatility expected to continue.
